Energy Efficient

Property Management

Managing energy efficiency in buildings is important for building owners, developers and facilities managers who want to reduce costs and comply with the latest regulations, and reach their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) goals.

Commtech's professionally certified (CIBSE) energy management engineers can determine the needs of existing buildings using energy and environmental audits. Commtech provide services to reduce energy bills, comply with energy regulations and directives together with helping you achieve carbon reduction and sustainability targets.

Display Energy Certificates (DEC)

The Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations (EPBD) introduced the requirement for DECs in public buildings in England and Wales from 1st October 2008. DECs show the actual energy use and operational rating of a building. They indicate its energy efficiency and CO2 emissions on a scale of A (best) to G (worst). DECs are valid for one year.

DECs are required for all public buildings in England and Wales with a total useful floor area >1,000m2 which are frequently visited by large numbers of persons. Buildings such as central government, local authority, hospitals/healthcare  and education all require DEC's. Some privately owned buildings that provide services from public funds such as leisure centres, museums and theatres may also need to display a DEC.

Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

If you are designing, building, selling or renting a commercial building you now require an energy assessment of your premises and an EPC for Building Regulations compliance.
