Commtech has agreed the sale of its Maintenance Division to Inviron, taking effect from 1st August 2009.
Steve Hawkins, Managing Director of Commtech Ltd, comments: “After a period of strategic review it had been decided that Commtech Ltd would solely focus on its high value added and core competence services of Commissioning Management, Commissioning Services, Design/Project Management and Energy Management.
“It was very important that the agreement with Inviron Ltd, UK facilities management provider, was concluded with the knowledge that all site and office based employees within the Maintenance division will be offered the opportunity to transfer to Inviron under the TUPE process. The Maintenance Division fits well with Inviron with regard to size, cultural fit and clientele, and I would like to once again thank everybody within the Maintenance Division for their outstanding service to Commtech and wish them well in the future.
“Commtech Ltd will now drive ahead with its European strategy operating with the support of IMI plc [www.imiplc.com] our parent company. We will be internally grouped and positioned as the Indoor Climate Services Group. The Indoor Climate Services Group will be made up of Commtech in the UK, EVU in Sweden, Aero-Dynamiek in Holland and Belgium together with Asterm in France. The Indoor Climate Services Group head office will be Commtech UK and headed up by myself
“Already the advantages of being a truly European business have allowed us to provide new solutions and services throughout Europe for both new and existing customers and we are excited by the ongoing opportunities that this will bring.”
