Commtech Takes Gold
28 October 2008
Commtech is the latest company to join a national scheme designed to help the industry improve its business development record with Government organisations. The company has recently made a successful application to Exor Management Services, a programme which recognises very high standards of business practise amongst UK contractors that wish to work in the government sector.
The Company’s application for Exor accreditation was driven by the need to minimise the administration required to do business in the government sector and also receive recognition for the high standards of compliance that it achieves across the business.
“We are delighted to have received Exor accreditation and see that this is a reflection of our stringent working practices and our dedication to putting processes and procedures in place to win business from local government” said “Steve Hawkins” Managing Director of Commtech Ltd
Exor accreditation is expected to enhance the Company’s ability to attract new contracts and in addition, having achieved this recognised standard for the public sector, this will have a positive impact upon business generated from the private sector, as confidence levels rise. Also, the commitment to high business standards will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.
Exor Management Services, established in 1997, is the leading body specialising in Risk and Compliance throughout the UK. The company has developed a comprehensive and detailed risk management framework for the Public Sector. Exor knows that the management of risk is a central issue in the procuring of goods and services and that is why this framework enables Exor’s Clients to procure goods and services with the confidence and knowledge that the businesses they are contracting with have been fully assessed on all council spend in such key areas as Financial Stability, Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities.
Ian McKinnon, Managing Director of Exor Management Services states that “Major public organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound range of business policies. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Commtech Ltd has done. The firms’ high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.”
Exor’s risk framework comprises of a set of standards that fit across a range of businesses from a Sole Trader to a Limited Charity to a Multinational Plc. All are assessed in a process that is transparent, administratively simple and rigorous but not onerous. To what extent a business is required to under go an assessment in all of these areas will largely depend on the level of spend and the category of work for which a business has registered.
